Glordinary

My life is very ordinary. I’m not glamorous. But in a culture that’s constantly chasing the next shiny thing, there’s something deeply satisfying about a ”long obedience in the same direction.” It’s an ordinary life, but better. It’s Glordinary. Let’s be friends as we celebrate God’s Glory and champion the ordinary.

"But when it is within my power to choose, those three questions:
-Is it spacious? Is it peaceful? Is it quiet?-
they became a litmus test for my soul each time I faced an obstacle of opportunity. What’s more is they became an inner compass when anything seemed a little off, overwhelming, or lacking clarity."

A Glordinary Birthday Celebration! Enjoy this Top Ten Replay!
Are you juggling too much? Is there more life than minutes each day? Yep, I hear you.
Whether by choice or demand, Stacy offers some day-brightening encouragement on sustainable living as she explores Exodus 18.
www.glordinary.com
"It’s.just.too.much. This isn’t sustainable. You’ll wear yourself out. You can’t do this alone. Jethro goes beyond pointing out the obvious from the outside looking in; he sets out a step-by-step plan for Moses, advising him how to lighten the load with other people, to “spread the wealth” so to speak."

Bring on the cake and blow out the candle. Glordinary’s turning ONE! It’s been 52 weeks together. I wasn’t always sure we’d get here. I wasn’t even sure we’d start. After several difficult situations, my communication confidence was severely impacted. I felt stunted in my ability to move on...until a helpful conversation with a friend and Matthew 19. This is the story of how I got from the couch to the podcast.

Here’s a small excerpt: “Maybe the Glordinary podcast will be great. Maybe it’ll be so-so, but it’s worth doing even poorly if the alternative is not doing it at all. Because Friends, it’s not about being successful. It’s about being faithful. One Glordinary day at a time.”

A Glordinary Birthday Celebration! Enjoy this Top Ten Replay!
With all of life’s twists and turns, it’s easy to feel forgotten and a bit lost along the way, right? Even the whirlwind of schedules and details can leave us left in the dust…feeling unseen, unheard, and unwelcome. Raise your hand if you can relate? Me too.
Let Stacy encourage you today with a peek into John 9 as Jesus goes looking for the unseen, unheard, and unwelcome.
www.glordinary.com
Here’s a small excerpt:"Unseen. Unheard. Unwelcome. Except that he wasn’t. After the whole healing spit showdown, Jesus hears the man is thrown out, excommunicated. So, Jesus went looking for him. Hard stop. He.went.looking.for.him.”

A Glordinary Birthday Celebration! Enjoy this Top Ten Replay!
It’s unofficially summer, and I’m loving all the green! My allergies? Not so much! I’ve noticed another green growing this season- the ‘ole green-eyed monster of envy. Yes, it’s easy to spot all the trips and toys people buy. If I’m honest, that green-eyed monster can scream and throw quite the tantrum. Hmm…Comparison can creep into any of our hearts. Join Stacy for a look at Exodus 20 as we chat through what “The Big Ten” have to say about envy.
www.glordinary.comHere’s a small excerpt:"When I began practicing the art of abundance in this way, it opened my eyes and heart to appreciate my own grass, so to speak, and celebrate my neighbor’s. It helped me see my world, my grass, as it is, not as I think it “should be” or what I’m entitled to.”

We don’t do small very well. Small tends to mean insignificant or “less than.” And bigger is better, right? Maybe. Or maybe God’s perspective is a little bit different than ours. Maybe God cherishes the small. Dare I say, prefers the small. Sure, God’s “big enough,” but is He “small enough” too? Is it okay to say that?Yes, yes it is. So, let’s chat about when God’s perspective differs from ours, and why that’s a very good thing! We’ll take a big look into 2 Samuel 22:36.

Here’s a small excerpt: “Like an attentive parent, He stoops down to hear your stories, your heartaches, kiss your boo-boos and scoop you up. Because only a big God could choose to be small enough to stoop down to make you great, to make me great.”

Do you find yourself asking some hard questions these days? Maybe it’s the unspoken ones nagging to the core. Ever needed God to show up in a big way, and He just… didn’t? You’re not alone. Let’s chat tomorrow about when it seems like God just didn’t understand the assignment. We’ll look at Exodus 23, a time when He failed to show up in a big way. What’s that all about? Listen in and join me for a reassuring moment.
www.glordinary.com
Here’s a small excerpt:He drove them out “little by little.” Because maybe “little by little” IS God showing up in a BIG way. Maybe He’s after something far greater, far bigger, than just slaying giants. Maybe the lil lil lil places in me are the biggest priorities for Him. And even though I don’t always like that, “I okay.”

Communication can be tricky! Whether we’re talking with a close friend, ourselves, or even the “Big Guy Upstairs,” communication covers everything from what’s said to what isn’t said. And let’s be real. Silence can be pretty deafening at times. Let’s chat about when, or if, God really does hear us. We’ll pay attention to the ways the “Big Guy” listens to the smallest sighs and loudest cries . Listen in for a Psalm 5 episode.
www.glordinary.com
Here’s a small excerpt: “The One who hears what I’m saying, yet hears what I’m not saying too. The silent words lodged deep within my soul. Don’t you see, my Friend? There is no thought, no word, no cry that He does not cup His ear to hear, to distinguish your voice from everything else, and prick up His ears to attend to you…and to me.”

Wednesday Feb 05, 2025

Have you ever been told your problem is too small? It’s all I heard for months…on repeat. How can a problem be too small when it’s the biggest thing on your mind?
Let’s talk about it with a new story- a story about a problem so small, yet so big, that only an incomparable God could see. Listen in for an episode from Isaiah 40 and the deep chapters of my story.
www.glordinary.com
Here’s a small excerpt:“For all the big ways we might feel “too small” today, there is an incomparable God inviting you and me to look to the stars, the ones He knows by name and brings out one by one. If a single star cannot escape His notice, neither can you.”
