Glordinary
My life is very ordinary. I’m not glamorous. But in a culture that’s constantly chasing the next shiny thing, there’s something deeply satisfying about a ”long obedience in the same direction.” It’s an ordinary life, but better. It’s Glordinary. Let’s be friends as we celebrate God’s Glory and champion the ordinary.

A Glordinary Birthday Celebration! Enjoy this Top Ten Replay!
This opening teaser episode shares a glimpse into the Glordinary backstory. What does a Glordinary life look like?
My life is very ordinary. It's not like I "settled" for ordinary. I chose to stop chasing culture's "extraordinary" to embrace a different kind of life, a distinctive life, a better life. Glordinary is a few moments where we glimpse God's Glory in the unseen, hidden, and ordinary places of our regular lives. Each week we'll Truthfully encourage, champion the ordinary, and invite meaningful reflection. I'm glad you're here.

The world is a noisy place, distorting the messages we see and hear. In today's episode, Stacy shares how to refocus with Truth from John 16:13.

Here's a small excerpt:"That morning, while my eyes sabotaged my literal vision, my heart’s vision re-focused. I began rehearsing Truth right then and there. Truth to counteract the lies of my heart and mind. Truth doesn’t ignore facts, my friend; it just places the emphasis on the right syllable."

Some days we just feel stuck, even “paralyzed” so to speak. Life can rattle us pretty good. Throw in the questions, decisions, and information-overload, and yep...stuck. That’s where a good friend helps you “carry your mat.” Let’s savor a cup of Joe together as we peek at Luke 5. We’ll discuss one of the ways we get unstuck.
www.glordinary.comHere’s a small excerpt: “Because we all experience circumstances that rattle our faith, that leave us confused, questioning, or just downright stuck. But a good friend’s faith is sometimes all we need to land us “right in front of Jesus.” To bring us back to the One who not only can heal our situation but heal our soul forever, to bring wholeness in body, mind, and spirit. Sometimes, you just need a friend to help carry your mat. And sometimes I need a friend to help carry mine.”

A Glordinary Birthday Celebration! Enjoy this Top Ten Replay! No one's exempt from life's twists and turns. Learn to navigate curveballs in today's episode as we draw hope from Lamentations 3:21-23.

Here's a short excerpt:"Until that day with my journal, I never noticed the word HOW and WHO are almost identical in the English language. H-O-W (how) and W-H-O (who). A simple shift of the letters, makes an entirely new word. A simple shift of thought, makes an entirely new perspective. Hope in my WHO, rather than horror in my HOW."

Are there decisions you'd rather not repeat? Things you can't undo? Me too.
Rock bottom. We all hit it, and that's a good thing. How deep our rock bottom is? Well, let's pray for a shallow one. Join me as we peek at Genesis, rock bottom, and the kindness of a Good Shepherd steering us away from the cliff…on repeat.
www.glordinary.com
Here's a short excerpt:"But the depth of our rock bottom seems unique to each one. Some of us seemingly need to fall hard, crashing deep into rock bottom’s bedrock, like Wile E. Coyote falling off the cliff with an iron anvil attached to them. A deep rock bottom. Some learn more easily from themselves or others, watching for pitfalls and previous errors to prevent a nasty free-fall…a shallow rock bottom, I like to say."

Life is a mixed bag of lovely and lonely. Unless I choose *what* I remember, it’s easy for me to forget God’s consistent, persistent Presence. Oh yes, it’s easy to think I’m all alone, fending for me, myself, and I in a great big world. That’s why I choose to remember. So, grab your leftover birthday cake for breakfast (no judgement) and join me. Let’s chat about Psalm 78 as we reflect back.

Here’s a small excerpt: “No matter the circumstance, problem, or insecurity, GOD MAKES UP THE DIFFERENCE. He meets me where I’m lacking, bringing just the right people or just the right info right when it’s needed most. Why? Because I’m not alone in this…and neither are you.”

We all face questions throughout our lives related to uncertainty, transition, and loss. But how often are we asking the deeper questions, the real questions? Join me as I share a vulnerable conversation from Luke 8.

"It was the first time in my life You led me to ask the question beneath the question. So, now 12 years later, what question am I really asking this time? 'Am I valuable enough to fix this? Do I warrant this level of care? Am I worth it?'"

Do you forget things? Tell me I'm not alone. It can't be just me struggling to remember all.the.things!
Here's the bad news: I think it gets worse as we age. The good news: it's not all on us to remember everything. Join me as we take the pressure off with an encouraging look at John 14:26.

"Remind me that You are a “with me” God, actively involved in my life. Remind me that You delight in me; I’m valuable because I’m made in your image, on purpose for a purpose. Remind me Your Truth does not lead astray...ever."

Change isn’t always fun. Constant, yes. Awesome, not always. Learning to welcome changing seasons (and how we show up in them) is a whole thing! And spoiler alert, this one’s gonna be real and raw. Let’s take a page from Luke 15 about how to welcome like the Father.
www.glordinary.com
Here’s a small excerpt: “It was about saying welcome to this season of life and welcome to how I was showing up in it. It was about acknowledging the changes, even the not so fun ones. It was about appreciating the good things that will come because God is always at His work, and He’s working for good. Welcome to all the ways life looks different today, the ways I look different. Welcome.”
